Fandom Clinic, Thursday night

Jenkins had been startled to see a strange pink creature go rushing by the door to his shop, and when he went out to see what was happening, he was nearly trampled by a distressed alot carrying an unconscious woman. It only made sense, then, to assist the poor creatures to the clinic and ensure the unconscious woman got proper care.

It was almost a relief when the alot turned into a blue woman, so he could get some coherent answers.

"While the creatures you're describing are unfamiliar to me, the symptoms of your friend are not. I'll have to do some tests, with your permission, but I suspect the creature may have been trying to feed on her soul."

Raven pressed her hands to her mouth. "Can you -- can you fix it?"

"We'll have to see, my dear. In the mean time, at least you've gotten her to safety."

[clinic is open for any and all getting injured/knocked out tonight! And I should be done spamming the list now. . . .]

Kathy was already in a bed, still unconscious. Raven was glued to her side, other than a few moments to leave messages for the boys.

"You weren't supposed to do this again, Kathy," she said, once she'd hung up the phone. "I'm going to be super pissed at you when you're better again."

Rosa honestly hadn't meant to kick the door open nearly so hard it almost broke, it just sort of happened, and, by now, she was starting to suspect that maybe something was making her a whole lot stronger than she usually was. She wasn't about to dwell on it, though, not when there was an unconscious woman in her arms, but she was going to be really glad that it meant she hadn't strained at all to carry her and get her to the clinic before any of those monsters attacked again.

"I need a doctor!" she announced, the urgency clear in her voice, from many years of barking orders to a team.

"I don't know," Rosa said, carefully setting the woman down on the procured gurney, not so much because she needed the relief (weird), but because, well, that's what you did in these situations. "I'd just stepped outside, and I found this...this...wolf or...something....just attacking her. This wasn't even near the preserve, down by the causeway, by the bar. I shot it, stabbed it, I didn't wait around to find out if it was dead. She's breathing, but she's not responding."

Thanks to the aid of a handwavey trooper, Summer had handwavily checked Kanan in and got him into a handwavey bed, and then created a tornado from all the waving hands just plopped down in a chair beside his bed, clutching Stance to her as tightly as he'd allow, and stared forward a little in a sort of shock.

Did they even allow animals to be in here? She didn't care, Stance wasn't going anyway. Stance needed her right now as much as she needed him, and she had no intention of leaving Kanan's side until a) he woke up or b) someone figured out what those monsters were and how they could completely destroy them. And when she blinked and looked around and little and saw that Kanan wasn't the only person in a bed right now, she shivered a little, realizing these people probably encountered the same thing, giving a little nod of solidarity to the other sentinels standing by.

She wasn't going to cry. She wasn't. She wanted to, but she wasn't going to let herself do it. Because in addition to everything else that just happened, the small bit of jello finally starting to melt out of her hair and leak spicy jalapeño jello juice into her eyes, she had to figure out what she was going to tell Hera....if she should even tell Hera at all.

Welp. At least if she did start crying, she could blame it on the jalapeños.

"Ugh."

Don't mind the scowl; it wasn't directed at Jenkins, just at what he said. She hadn't even been there very long, and already, special times was enough to make her skin crawl. But nothing yet had caused...she looked over at the woman, how awful she looked, but he was right, no marks or anything...something like this.

And how had she managed to carry her over here and she wasn't even remotely tired?

She shook her head. Focus on the work, Diaz. "It looked like a wolf," she said, "only it...didn't have fur. Like one of those ugly hairless cats, but...worse, almost like there was no skin at all. It was...gross."

It was like Rosa hadn't really registered just how messed up the thing was until just this moment, right when she really thought about it.

"I didn't get a good look at it, though. I mostly just wanted to make sure she," she nodded at the woman, "was safe."

Anders dashed to the clinic as soon as he got the message, and was red-faced and out of breath by the time he found Raven.

“What happened?” he asked — demanded, really. “Is she going to be okay?”

Raven had been quietly wishing there was some epic trek she could go on that she could pretend was going to fix Kathy, and digging herself slowly back into the even-more-feral mindset she'd been in on her long walk last year. She startled when Anders arrived, flashing a quick set of very sharp teeth, before getting herself back under control.

"We were celebrating in the preserve," she explained. "And this thing just came out and attacked. I've never seen anything like it. It was like a, a zombie dog on steroids or something."

"Yeah," said Rosa, lifting her chin. "Shot it in the head a few times. Didn't seem to do anything."

Yeah, that might be a small thread of horror underlying Rosa's otherwise dry, matter-of-fact rumble of a voice.

"So I threw my knife at it. And the knife sliced clear through its neck."

Not so much horror right then as it was amazement, because, anyway you framed it, that was freaking cool as hell.

"Like you'd almost expect the bullets to have done. That, obviously, put it out a little bit, so I kicked it, and then I picked her up and brought her here. And that's kinda it."

Anders noticed those teeth, but didn’t particularly care. He wasn’t at his best in the moment either.

He chewed his lip as he came closer to the bed. “Zombie giant dogs,” he said. “Of course. It’s been too quiet for too long, time for something to try to eat us.”

He squinted at Kathy. “Did she lose a lot of blood?”

Raven shook her head, pressing her hand to her mouth again. "No. She hasn't -- it didn't bite her. The man out front said he thought maybe it got to her soul."

Eric was clearly struggling by the time he managed get to the clinic, and was more dragging than carrying the unconscious sheriff.

"Um. I could use some help?" he called out, pushing open the door (which seemed about ready to fall off, weird).

After getting Summer's message, Hera paused only long enough to grab some dog treats and a first-aid kit full of bacta patches before hurrying down to the clinic.

She stopped short when she saw Summer and Stance and Kanan just lying there. "Summer? What happened?"

Rosa shrugged, shaking her head. "Just one of my normal knives," she said, and, because what kind of woman carried around just one knife?, she reached back, twisted a little, seeming to dislodge something between her jacket and her back.

"Like this one," she said, holding a large and serrated piece of gleaming weaponry to him, handle toward him. Normally, she wouldn't exactly just fork a weapon over to someone else, but she felt pretty confident that this old dude in a clinic wasn't about to attack her, but, hey, she'd be ready if he did. "Only a little smaller."
