FTEC – Saturday [September 20]

Ino was pretty sure that this was going to be a bad day if radio had been anything to go by about how many people had been in and out of the clinic last night.

As such, she didn’t even take out her study materials, but rather busied herself with making sure everything was stocked up and keeping a watchful eye on the door. Ready to help if it was needed.

...she really hoped it wouldn't be needed. Better wasted effort than a lot of patients.

"Just the rest of them," Aly said lightly even though her voice was strained with worry. She set about getting the rest of Roy's jacket and shirt off without getting in Martha's way. "I'm as malleable as butter."

"Liar," Roy breathed and it was harder to keep his eyes open and follow what they were saying.

Martha watched him closely as she checked his burns. "Hey, try to stay with us," she said, even as she contemplated giving him something to make him rest, and looked to Aly. "I can start to get these burns cleaned up and get him on an IV."

"Wouldn't leave two beautiful women alone," he mumbled. It was habit maybe, or just something to concentrate on.

"Yes, who knows what we'd do if you weren't watching," Aly teased, reaching to touch Roy's cheek softly. She looked up at Martha. "What do you need me to do? I know some basic field medicine."

For all that Martha felt the clinic was short on actual doctors, she had to admit there were an awful lot of useful healer types around. "If I get you the bandages and medicine, can you cover his burns?"

"Absolutely," she said quickly, stepping away to wash the dirt and blood off her hands. "Think you can handle me poking at you, Mustang?" she called to Roy, making sure he was still with them.

Roy blinked his eye open, he didn't remember having closed it and he stared at Aly for a moment. "Need to poke at you first."

"Oh no, you're not going to be doing any poking," Martha said. "You're just going to lie back and relax." She went out to the supply room quickly, and came back with some strong bandages and an antibiotic cream, setting them out for Aly.

"She got hurt too," Roy protested, shifting on the bed as no position seemed to be very comfortable.

"Seeing as I'm not halfway to bleeding to death, I think we're going to deal with you first," Aly said with finality. She picked up the cream, trying not to wince at the half-seared, half-raw meat appearance of what used to be Roy's side.

"Exactly. There's an order to these things, after all." Martha smiled at him as she got the IV set up. "You're probably going to get sleepy, but I promise, you'll feel better when you wake up."

He nodded, not in a state to argue as sleep sounded good. "Make sure she gets checked out too?" he asked Martha.

It was quite adorable to see the two of them so concerned about each other, Martha had to admit. "I will, don't worry."

"You worry about you for once," Aly murmured, concentrating on cleaning the burns carefully and smothering them in cream.

Like he was going too, but he found himself too tired to voice that and finally, everything went black.

Martha made sure the IV was running smoothly, and peered over, looking at the bandages with approval. "Nicely done," she said, wanting to be reassuring. "He'll be all right."

Aly looked up at her seriously, her hands not stopping their work. "He will be if he doesn't want me to kick his ass from here to the end of the island," she said emphatically.

"You might want to wait until he's feeling a little better before you do that," Martha said. "Speaking of which, how are you feeling?"

"Won't need to do it if he's feeling better," she pointed out. "I'm fine. I'll be black and blue tomorrow, but no worse than that." She looked down at her hand, moving her fingers slowly. "I think my wrist is sprained., but it didn't get broken."

"Would you like something to wrap it with?" Martha asked. "Or anything for the pain?" Now she understood why the clinic was overstocked with so many more things than normal.

"Something to wrap it with would be good," Aly said. "How's it been? Are you getting completely swamped?"

"It's been crazier than I expected. Everything was so quiet last week," Martha said, poking into the cabinet in the room to get a wrap bandage.

She chuckled softly, starting to wrap Roy's bandages carefully. "That's how it is on Fandom. Either quiet and almost idyllically peaceful or insanely busy and violent."

Martha smiled and gave Aly the wrap. "I suppose that's something to get used to."
