Christian was a little groggy this morning. Between Jasmine and Maureen, he was getting worn out.

It was so hard being him.

When John comes into the clinic, he's carrying Aeryn and Anakin's close behind him.

"I need some help," he says, trying to remain calm since Aeryn was awake, after all.

Aeryn looks very much like she's had a bad day. She's red-faced and sweating, not really feeling the need to lift her head up which is good because she probably couldn't do it for long anyway, and is missing her shoes and socks because it had seemed like a good idea at the time.

John carries Aeryn into the exam room and finally puts her down on the bed.

"She's not human," he says right off.

Christian examined Aeryn, taking her temperature and blood pressure. "She looks like she has heat stroke," he said. "You're right, we need to cool her down." He turned and rummaged through a cabinet for ice packs.

"It's called Heat Delerium," John tells him, nodding at the ice packs. "It's like heat stroke for her species. I don't know how long she was in the boiler room but it affects motor functions and memories."

"Boiler room?" Christian said. "What was she doing in a boiler room?" He cracked and shook the icepacks, then started to place them around Aeryn's body. He soaked a cloth in cold water and placed that on her forehead.

"Not sure yet," John tells him, shrugging uncomfortably. "I think she went down to fix the air conditioning or something. It was really hot on the second floor today."

"She allergic to anything you know?" Christian asked, taking Aeryn's temperature again. "She needs fluids. I should hook up an IV."

He didn't know allergies and that sucks. "I'm not sure. She's never had an allergic reaction to anything she's eaten or taken here. And yeah, the last time this happened, I just gave her a lot of water. It wasn't as bad as this."

Christian busied himself with setting up an IV to get fluids back in Aeryn's body. "Her temperature seems to be going down slowly," he said.

"Thanks," John says distractedly and busies himself with pacing and staring at Aeryn. "When she wakes up, she'll probably be able to tell you more. If she can...I mean."

Anakin had placed himself in a corner out of the way.

His eyes flickered from John to Aeryn to the doctor in rapid succession, the only indication of just how worried he was.

"She's going to be okay," Christian said, picking up on Anakin's apprehension. "You got her here in time. If she rests and drinks plenty of fluids and keeps out of boiler rooms, she'll be fine."

"Can we stay until she wakes up?" John asks, gesturing between himself and Anakin.

"I am," he says and tries to get comfortable in the chair. "I really am. It's just, I mean, Aeryn's smarter than locking herself in the boiler room. It needed your sword thing to open it. She's smarter than that."

"After the, um, princess thing, I think Aeryn would've heard them coming a mile away and killed something," he says and shrugs one shoulder, eyes intent on Aeryn's motionless body. "And yeah, they like to bite but they've never put a life in danger."
